A common question I get asked is whether more than one dog or cat can fit inside a pet stroller. For many strollers, the answer is “yes,” no problem! First, consider the weight of the two (or even 3) animals. Two dogs weighing a total of 40 pounds are likely to fit inside a stroller that can hold up to 60 or 70 pounds. In these larger strollers, you will be sure to have a cabin big enough for multiple pets.
For example, the PetZip Happy Trailer will hold up to 75 pounds and the interior cabin measures: 28″L x 17″W x 24″H. I have two French Bulldog-Pug mix dogs that weigh 26lbs and 23 lbs. In the sitting position, they measure about 12-13″ across and fit easily into the Happy Trailer cabin. Sometimes one dog lies down and the other sits. They both can lie down together, but they never choose this option. The two dogs also fit happily into the Gen7Pets Jogger, which measures: 26″L x 14″W x 22″H. There is a lot of extra room for them in the Pet Gear NV Stroller, which measures: 30″L x 13″W x 22″H. The Pet Gear AT3 (30.5″L x 14″W x 24″H) and Jogger (30″L x 13″W x 22″H) also have cabins large enough to accommodate more than one pet.
If you prefer a smaller stroller with still enough room to carry more than one pet, look at the DoggyRide Mini (23″L x 15″W x 22″H) which can carry up to 55 pounds, and the Pet Gear Special Edition stroller (26″L x 12″W x 19.5″H) which has a 45 pound weight limit. The Gen7Pets Promenade (25″L x 13″W x 21.5″H) is a medium-sized stroller with a 50lb weight limit and a large cabin for multiple pets.
These are just a few examples of stroller cabins that can accommodate more than one pet. Most pet strollers have an enclosure that is mesh to protect your pets from jumping out, but many have two tether clips for two leashes. The PetZip Happy Trailer actually has three tether clips.
