Owning a small dog has many benefits. One of the best perks is that he/she can go almost anywhere with you. If you are an active person, then sharing the experience with your little buddy makes it more enjoyable.
Pet Carriers that have multiple uses are an easy solution to how to bring along your small dog. Whether you are walking around the neighborhood, biking on the beach or hiking up a mountain, using a carrier that keeps your hands free and your back balanced is a good choice.
Many pet carriers can be used as a car seat and shoulder carrier, but there are others that can also be used as a backpack or front pack carrier. Pet Ego makes the XPack and the Marsupack carriers that fit comfortably on your back. Kyjen also makes a backpack and a front carrier for pets under 20 pounds.

It is very common for people to experience periods of loneliness in life. Studies have shown that one-quarter of all adults experience painful loneliness every few weeks, and the incidence in adolescents and college students is even higher. Loneliness can be defined as:
Being alone and you don’t choose to be by yourself
Not having attachments that you may have had in the past
Finding yourself in an unfamiliar situation; like a new city or a new job
Feeling as though you have no one with which to share experiences or problems
Having a poor perception of yourself as not being capable of engaging in relationships with others
Feeling lonely does not mean you have a flaw in your personality. It should not be viewed as a situation that cannot be changed. It is important to realize that you have some control over your level of loneliness. Being socially connected is an important concept as it is central to a person’s overall sense of well-being. National studies have concluded that having a strong social connectedness (e.g. to a neighborhood or larger community) and healthy relationships, leads to a higher quality of life and a greater ability to contribute to the health of the community. Being socially isolated long-term can lead to mental and physical health problems.
Many people turn to pets when they feel lonely or isolated. Pets provide a sense of responsibility and purposefulness. Pets, especially dogs, encourage you to develop an exercise routine, which then leads to a greater chance of being social. Walking a dog invites other people to stop and pet your dog and then have a conversation with you. There is also a tremendous sense of comfort that comes with a pet relationship. Petting an animal has been proven to reduce stress levels in people, and to lower blood pressure and cholesterol levels. Owning and taking care of a pet is one way to reduce feelings of loneliness.
Contrary to popular belief, Min Pins are not miniature Doberman Pinschers. They are believed to be a cross between a Dachshund and an Italian Greyhound, and are a descendant of the German Pinscher. Min Pins are referred to as “King of the Toys,” and they will gladly take the position of king, or queen, of your household. They are very confident, strong-willed dogs who like to think they are big dogs. At 8-11 pounds and 10-12.5 inches in height, the Min Pin’s gait has been compared to a prance. Their average life span is 14-17 years and they are very loyal to their humans. They will happily occupy the space on your lap and cuddle up close.
One thing to be cautious of is that these dogs like to run. One reason Min Pins end up in shelters is because they have run far from home. They are also stubborn to train, do not like cats and will try to dominate other dogs. Small children who do not know how to play with dogs generally aren’t a good fit with the Min Pin. These dogs have such small legs that can break easily if a child were to mishandle the dog or fall onto it.
Min Pins do not like to be left alone for long periods of time. They can become destructive and may bark excessively. Min Pins like to be on the go. They do well when taken out and allowed to socialize. You can take your Min Pin shopping, to the park or just around town to interact with and be handled by others.
